Being chased by a bat in the middle of the day at a cemetery whilst riding my bicycle at top speed was very bizarre. The handlebars became loose when I kept looking back at the animal to see if it was still keeping up with me. I didn’t have my 7D on me at the time, otherwise I probably would have tried to snap some photos seeing as I do like the little guys. I was more surprised than anything to see it out in the bright sunshine in the middle of the day!

This experience is definitely turning into a conceptual photo soon.

Also, thanks to the people who commented on my tripod post! I think I finally narrowed down what I’ll be purchasing, and it’s going to be of huge help with my future work. I’ll also be attending a fair in the next few weeks and am excited to get some long exposures of the rides at night!

I have some new photos to post later on. I’ve been pretty busy travelling, and unable to look through everything I’ve shot.

Tripod & Tripod Head Suggestions?

Hello, everyone! For any photographers who can chime in, I could use some help as I narrow down my choices.

I’m currently looking into buying a new tripod; I’m between Induro and Manfrotto carbon fibre tripods. I have an Induro monopod which I absolutely love, and I’d like to stick between these two brands after doing a lot of research in regards to quality, customer service, etc.

Does anyone here use Induro or Manfrotto tripods (+ heads)? If so, which model(s) do you own, and what do you and don’t you like about it. I’ve been reading reviews on multiple carbon models on B&H, but it’s always great to hear from others as well!

I’m going on a big trip to the mountains and will be doing a lot of landscape photography, wildlife, and especially long exposures like star trails and general sky shots seeing as I’ll be able to see the Milky Way. Maximum capacity is important, so I’m trying to stick with ones that can hold a lot of weight. As well, advice on heads is much appreciated.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks so much in advance for anyone who can comment on their gear.
